IDENTIFICATION
OF BUILDINGS UTILIZING TRUSS TYPE CONSTRUCTION
The
State of New York implemented legislation that requires
all new commercial and industrial structures that
utilize “truss-type
construction” to have a sign warning emergency
personnel that the building was built with trusses. The
bill defined “truss-type construction” to
include all fabricated components made of wood and
steel.
All
commercial and industrial buildings utilizing truss type
construction will require to comply with New York State
Building Code 19 NYCRR 1264 and Subchapter C of
Chapter XXXIII of Title 19 of the Official Compilation
of Codes, Rules and Regulations of the State of New York
as amended by adding a new Part 1264.
